As an ACOEM Board member for the past four years, as well as having served in other ACOEM and component leadership positions, I know the challenges, and more importantly the many opportunities that we face in our organization, and in our specialty. I hope to be a bridge that will help all ACOEM members from a wide variety of geographic, practice and social settings meet these future opportunities. I am a native of Philadelphia, but am currently a private practitioner in rural Maine. I am a medical entrepreneur, who appreciates the challenges faced by businesses, including medical practices. I’ve held academic and leadership roles in urban and rural medical centers, and appreciate their unique challenges. I serve clients from vastly different demographic and geographic areas ranging from agriculture, to military, to industrial and corporate settings. As an attorney, I understand the challenges and potential conflicts that face us as OEM practitioners, and as an organization. I believe that for ACOEM as an organization, and for OEM as a specialty, our diversity of thought and experience is not a weakness, it is a strength that we bring to the table, whether with patients, corporate clients, hospital and academic leaders, or in government settings. Post COVID-19, I will work to keep ACOEM in a prominent, national leadership position, and collaboratively leverage both in-person and digital connections to assure that all economic sectors appreciate the tremendous value that ACOEM members bring to the table. As a first generation Asian American, growing up in the hospitality industry, I know the challenges of small business owners, and the value of hard work, commitment, and teamwork. My medical, legal and business experience make me an effective leader, and more importantly a hard worker. I would be honored to work on your behalf, and be the first Asian American, and the first leader of my generation to serve as Vice President of ACOEM. Please, learn more about me at www.MedLawPractice.com If you don’t have time to visit my website, in a nutshell, my other to ACOEM activities have included: Board of Directors; Co-Chair of AOHC; Strategic Planning Committee; Finance Committee; Policy, Procedures, and Public Positions Committee; and our Racism Task Force. Additionally, I helped restart the Health Informatics Section, and am a Past Chair of the RRG and Pharmaceutical Sections. I authored or co-authored: ACOEM guidelines on the use contact lens in the workplace; OEM competencies, functional status; ACOEM Practice Guideline and MDGuidelines (Eye Chapter). I presently serve as our Delegate to the AMA, and have been a leader in NECOEM. I have been a Course Director for CAOHC and NIOSH Spirometry courses. Outside of ACOEM, my girlfriend (a dentist in private practice), our puppy and I enjoy Maine. I am a Senior AME for FAA, and a founding member of Kids’ Chance of Maine. At my hospital, I have been fortunate to have served as: VP of the Medical Staff; Chair of Medical Specialties; and the Medical Director for Workplace Health and Wellness, Employee Assistance Program, Employee Health, Fitness Centers, Teaching Kitchen and 8 on-site clinics. As such, I humbly ask for your vote. Please contact me if you have any questions and please spread the word. Thank you in advance for your time consideration. https://acoem.simplyvoting.com/ A team player I would love to hear about how you would like ACOEM could better serve you, our members!
